Deer Valley and Solitude issued a press release that acknowledged the purchase of Solitude by Deer Valley Resort.  This season Solitude will be operated by the owners of Solitude for the past 40 years, with Deer Valley assuming full operational control in May 2015.   Details are available on the Deer Valley website and in a joint press release.

I think you mean May 2015.  Everything stays the same for the 2014-15 season.  Gets interesting after that.

yep - now one  wonders if they are gonna build that ski link from Solitude to ??? Now that DV owns one of the endpoints, will Vail TLH become buddies or will DV take that away from Canyons? Hmmmm - stay tuned (best thing would be for Vail/TLH to do a lease with DV/Solitude ... mutual assured destruction of economies scenario).

This consolidtion trend keeps rolling along.  Mammoth bought Snow Summit and Bear Mtn just a couple weeks ago.  They are southern Cal's version of Liberty/Whitetail.  Everybody's trying to keep up with the Jones'.  Part of mindset of going after the season pass market instead of the day skier.
