My son will be home from college the 2nd week in March. We are thinking of of taking a road trip and doing some skiing. First thought was Vermont. Any other suggestions? If we head up that way any suggestions on places to ski?
Also would like to avoid crowds if possible :)
Maybe surgarloaf Maine? Kinda long for a road trip tho. Great snow lots of terrain and less lines. JimK has an article on it
Mid-March in southern VT can be iffy, so head at least as far north as Killington, then Sugarbush, Stowe, Jay, Smuggs, etc. It's worth the few extra hours over Mt. Snow, Okemo, Stratton. Maine is very good at that time too. Usually any where Northern New England is solid at that time including Wildcat/Cannon NH or Whiteface NY.
I was debating possibly traveling to Mont Tremblant for either 3 or 4 ski days. I know that it's an Intrawest Resort so the amenities and slopes should be top notch. I am hoping that someone will have an inside scoop on the resort and whether the resort will be too busy to enjoy over spring break.
Crowds? Avoid Daytona Beach LOL! Seriously though, northern Vermont and New Hampshire will probably not be too terrible Spring Break. With a week available I'd try to hit at least two places. Mad River Glen would be at the top of that not too crowded cool places to ski list for sure. Jay and Smuggs would be next.
If you are going throught vt/ny then take the vermonter train. I also would go to tremblant/mont saint anne in qc, but again language barrier.

to paraphrase Truman Capote in Murder by Death - use your god damn definite article !! "*The* language barrier ... *the* language barrier" , "*a* language barrier " what are you a Chinese detective like Sidney Wang?!?!?!
Haha, when I read this board I never know what people are going to get worked up about next.
Myself included I guess ;-)
