with more coming today, tonight, Saturday and Sunday. It should be a great closing weekend!
For a change Vail is the place that is missing the big snow. Vail got an inch.
Some places on the front range east of the tunnel will get upwards of two feet by this afternoon.
Maybe A-Basin will make June after all.
I heard some parts if the cottonwoods got around 30 inches. A great closing week for all.
Snowbird not closing for weeks!!!
Loveland supposedly got 27" in the last 2 days

Was at Alta for "Big Wednesday" on April 15. Started snowing around 4pm on Tue. Temp dropped from 50 to 30 between 3pm and 5pm when the wind shifted. Over 20 inches when the lifts started running Wed morning. Snowed all day. Even the groomers off Sunnyside had 4-5 inches in the afternoon. The official total as of 5pm that day was 29 inches. It was DEEP powder! Had friends who skied off Wildcat in chest deep snow (one guy about 6 feet tall). I rented wide skis but had to change to powder skis at lunch time. 115 underfoot with plenty of rocker, pretty wild for someone 5'0", 120 pounds. Usually 100 underfoot is plenty wide. With that much snow, never saw my skis off trail unless I was in someone else's tracks. Another 5 inches the next night. But a lot of wind so many places were crusty on Thu. Main Street on the Collins side stayed closed Wed and Thu. It was too bad that the last day for Supreme was April 12. Ballroom and Devil's Castle didn't open until Sat. Heard Ballroom was good in the morning but it was pretty warm by lunch time when I was on a shuttle to the airport.
Well seven springs got some snow today... Nothing wierd about that...
