Showing my Midwest roots here again. There is an article in this month's Skiing magazine on Mt. Bohemia. Doesn't appear to be available online yet. Mt. Bohemia is WAY up north in Michigan and has been mentioned in the DCSki forum a couple times over the years. According to the article, at one point there were plans for extensive development of the area but ultimately what got built was a very basic ski area meant to appeal to hardcore skiers and boarders. Pretty cool.
900' vertical with an average of 270" snowfall annually makes it the best skiing resort south of Stowe and east of Colorado. Accomidations are non existant though. Plan for a 12 hour drive if you're close and you can sleep in a hut if you're lucky hahaha.

I dont know if you are aware of this it not but The owners of Bohemia also have plans to start the only cat skiing operation in the eastern USA called voodoo mnt. I thinks its pretty cool but the mid west isn't the place you think about cat skiing.
