Good article from firsttracksonline summarizing opensnow.com's national ski forecast for this winter: http://www.firsttracksonline.com/2015/10/28/ski-season-forecast-snowy-in-the-northeast-mixed-bag-in-the-west/
In short: PNW worse than average snow, Southwest better than average, Intermountain average, Northeast average to better than average, and drum roll please...mid-Atlantic better than average.
Im
As you can see we have above average snow cover especially up over siberia.
you can also see below ave cover on the pacific side of AK and Canada which is due to el nino.
Putting my 2 flakes out there im thinking that the cold produced by that snow cover will eventually break down the warming effects of El nino and give us a slow start but nice 2nd half to winter...
I am thinking that NC will have to get a big dump or 2 to get that fcast that you posted for them JK because im thinking they will be on the warm side most of winter.
If you watch the daily wx model runs you can allready notice an effort by cold shots to break into the nino influence but keep failing,,,,eventually they will bust thru and it on!.....
