It is with extreme sadness that I report that Karen Carra, wife of DCSki Columnist Matthew Graham, passed away on November 8, 2015 due to complications after a hang gliding accident.  Matthew and Karen have contributed many stories documenting their adventures to publications such as DCSki over the years.

An obituary for Karen was published today in the Washington Post.  You may read the obituary here.

My sincere condolences to Matt and family.  The list in Karen's obit of her various interests is unbelievable and a testimony to her zest for life!

We were blessed to know Karen and Matthew. Karen accomplished everything in her life with style, grace, and humility. When we last saw Karen and Matt at our lake to take photos of the fireworks on July 4, they were recounting their then most recent adventure tales. We hope that Karen is now experiencing a great adventure that has no pain, fear, or limits.
