We drove past Winterplace yesterday afternoon.  Sadly, the parking lot was a ghost town, the temps on I 77 were in the mid 60s and there were a few mounds of snow scattered around the mountain.  Utterly pathetic for Dec 26th.

This early ski season sucks. Rather than bang my head against the wall, I punted and headed east towards the sandy beaches of The Grand Strand.  I'll be enjoying this view until ski season returns.  I'd rather be skiing but this is better than a snowless Western PA sunrise.

You gotta do what you gotta do:-)

I went to the island of Martinique last week.  Swam and watched the sunset one night from the beach/hotel to right:

So much melted snow, just lying all around that hotel and beach.

Disgusting.  I hope they offered severely discounted rates.

Rumor has it that Bob Nutting is trading the Tyrol slope, the Tahoe Lodge, and a Triple Chair lift to be named later for cold hard cash to recoup the losses suffered during this crazy weather pattern.

Seriously, a lot of folks have been laid off or not called to work because of the lack of snow. My thoughts go out to those employees of all ski operations who have been hurt financially. Hoping the weather changes very, very soon!!!
