Beautiful powdery snow this am in charlottesville, unfortunately predicted to change over to ice this afternoon. Something I have seen more than once since I have been living here. Here's hoping at least some of you are out there enjoying the fresh this morning!
Same conditions in DC burbs.
El Nino winter. Actually, the past month has been much better than I thought it would be.
How did T-Line treat ya this past week?
No skiing for me this weekend. Out sick. Still sickish today, but forecast with ice kept me home today; I'll drive on anything but ice. Keeping my powder dry for next weekend and WFH today to pave the runway. And Taos trip coming up in three weekends...
T-Line was good. Did not venture into the woods at all. Snow was deep on both sides of WL, spent a lot of time there. Snow on the lower (natural snow only) part of the mountain was really good.
Have fun at Taos. I've only been there once years ago and loved it. I will just be local for the rest of the season - another day or 2 in WV, a weekend at Wisp with the family and wintergreen otherwise.
Massanutten was a lot of fun on Monday morning with 5+ inches of fluffy powder. Cleaning off the minivan was really easy. Stayed good until about 2pm. Had to drive back to NC at that point any way.
MakAttack humps were much more fun after the new snow packed down in the deep troughs. They were pretty icy over the weekend. One side of DJ and Paradice was not groomed per usual. More fun than the heavy deep snow in Jan. Still good a couple hours later after it was tracked up. Not quite deep enough for tree skiing though, but did see some tracks.
