Wow, now that's a  big ole black eye for Vail, but not surprising. The Colorado mountians had no real snow until yesterday, with  yesterday and today as the ONLY good snowmaking days so far this season. BC is lower than Summit county so conditions are likely even worse there than in Suimmit County. And between tomorrow and Thanksgiving the only good snowmaking day is likely to be 11/22. Things seem to get better starting 11/24, but BC would need to get down lots of snow on Birds of Prey to get open for the downhill. That apparently is not going to happen this year.

Keystone opened today with gondola downloading to end the day - no way down top to bottom. Worst opending day conditions (even though opening day was weeks later than normal) I can remember,. I was not there.

... more on the Beaver Creek World Cup cancellation. Interestingly, the article mentions that the world cup events scheduled for Lake Louise next week have also been cancelled -- courtesy the warm weather.
