From Snowshoe's Facebook page, posted ~ 2:30 PM EST Saturday, December 10:

It's official! We will drop the rope on Cupp Run this Wednesday, December 14th! This will be our earliest opening of Cupp since the 2008/09 season. Designed by Olympian Jean-Claude Killy, Cupp Run offers the largest vertical drop in the region(1,500ft.) and covers 1.5 miles of #blackdiamond terrain on our legendary Western Territory. Who's ready?

OK, Snowshoe, we're ready !

There were giant whales of snow on Cupp this weekend.

SS actually dropped the ropes on Cupp Run this afternoon (Tuesday, Dec. 13).

Coverage is 100%.  Surface is a bit crunchy but quite pleasant and skiable.  Spruce, Cross Cut and some of the greens were good, too.  The only negatives were the piles of "aquarium gravel" (pulverized frozen granular surface) that piled up on Heisler's Way and in a few other locations.

BUT no complaints from me!  Anything before Decmber 15 or after March 15 in the Mid-Atlantic is gravy.  And, after last season....  'Nuff said.

I'd say before Dec 15 and after April 1 :)
