Hello, DC skiers.

Are you getting excited like we are about the upcoming season?

Here’s what’s happening in our corner of the valley.

A year after doubling our snowmaking capacity, we are increasing our capabilities another 20 percent by purchasing four “T40” propeller-driven snow guns for the season. Last year we used six airless guns along with 12 “stick guns” on a “demo” basis while improving our ability to source and transfer water to cover the area’s ski trails and runs with snow. Because the demo equipment worked so well, we purchased it and now have a total of 22 snowmaking units.

See you on the slopes.

Hi, constructive feedback from a pass holder from last year and this year. Got photo pass in hand so ready to go.

Blow a deeper base on Valley Vista in Dec before opening other trails. You had a great base on Meadows I (when it opened) but Vista was minimal all year. I realize you were improvising a bit last year with budget and planning.

Put some sort of rubber mat system at "Piss Pass", aka narrow runout of Lower Timber. That is a high traffic area and difficult to make/keep snow on it. You have beginners to experts going over it; it got real sketchy (mud) at the end of the year.

Looking forward to a good natural snow year and bashing some trees/side country at CVR this season. And hitting some early season groomers.
