Blue bird skies, comfortable temps, a little breezy and a groomer cruisers paradise.

I snapped a few pics along the way.  Too bad shays is closed b/c there seems to be a good amt of snow on it.  A few peeps were hitting it.  Cupp was fast and a blast.  Very light crowds.  I managed to put my drone up for a bit.  I'll try and post a video at some point.

Yes great day!  Had the Head WC's doing some nice big GS turns on Cupp in the am then took a lunch break switching to the short SL's and skied the bumps on Knot & Sawmill.  Was very surprised how soft the snow was on Sawmill that made it very easy to get down.  Not that Knot Bumper was bad but no one was there so still crusty hardpack on the backside.

Excellent conditions should hold up at least until Tuesday.

I very well might have been over on sawmill with you, I made 5-6 runs over there between 2-3 this afternoon. My mogul form isn’t the best, but for Snowshoe I found them incredibly forgiving and fun.

I saw that too. Hopefully it will hold up for next weekend. wgo wrote:

Anyone know if Shays survived the thaw and rain? And if it is expected to re-open for the weekend?

It was dark when I arrived and pouring rain.  Most of the natural snow that was here last week is gone.  I would be shocked if Shays survived.

Shays was closed Thursday, it had a big brown spot all the way across, I don't see it coming back. Upper Shays is closed as well.

Shays was definitely dead. Cupp Run actually was really good. Once the sun hit it softened up nicely.

My son and I did manage to get out to SS today. Skied cupp from noon until about 2 after it had softened up and I agree, it was a lot of fun.Spring bumps on sawmill in the afternoon were fun as well.

Around 1:30 there was some sort of injury on the Lower Cupp steep part.  Ambulance was pulling in near the lift and the liftie said it was a head injury.

Cupp had the best snow on the mountain today - by far.  I plan on a token run or two tomorrow just to say I skied in April.

I caught Sawmill just after had hit it and was still firm. As for Lower Cupp I skied it about 11:30 and the steep section scratchy but still skied well.
