Almost Heaven

West Virginia

A popular topic of conjecture by DCSki readers going back as early as 2005, Almost Heaven (also known as Mt. Point Crayon) was a ski area proposed by Bill Bright, owner of Winterplace Resort, back in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

“This would have been by far the largest of the many proposed ski areas, and if the purchase of the last farm would have happened, we’d be making tracks there,” writes Kim Williams of the Snow Sports Museum of West Virginia.
