Skiers and snowboarders in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains can look forward to several upgrades at two of the region’s most popular winter destinations, Blue Mountain and Camelback Resorts, as they gear up for the 2024-2025 season. Both resorts, now under the management of KSL Resorts, have announced improvements designed to enhance the winter sports experience.

A major highlight is the introduction of the Peak-to-Peak Poconos Pass, offering unlimited access to both Blue Mountain and Camelback. The pass, priced at $999 through October 4, 2024, comes with the promise of no blackout dates or restrictions, along with special perks and discounts. This move aims to attract dedicated skiers and snowboarders looking for flexibility across the two resorts.

Blue Mountain, which has long prided itself on being the first to open and the last to close in the Poconos, is continuing its focus on snowmaking technology. The resort has invested several million dollars in new equipment, including 132 stick guns and six fan guns, aimed at improving snow coverage. An upgrade to its snowmaking automation software is also underway, which is expected to boost efficiency. Additionally, Blue Mountain is acquiring a new Prinoth Bison X Cat snow groomer, a move likely to ensure well-maintained slopes throughout the season.

Meanwhile, Camelback Resort, located just under an hour from Blue Mountain, is marking its 61st year with the return of some tech-savvy enhancements. The Big Pocono On The Go shop, which uses Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, will return this season, allowing visitors to make purchases without waiting in line. The resort’s app will continue to feature SkiLynx software, enabling guests to track their trails, miles, and vertical feet — a feature that has become increasingly popular among regulars.

These updates come as both resorts aim to stay competitive and offer a top-tier experience in the increasingly tech-driven ski industry.
