As the winter season approaches, Vail Resorts has announced a series of new programs and upgrades at its eight ski properties across Pennsylvania, aimed at enhancing the experience for visitors.
Seven Springs Mountain Resort is expanding its Ski and Snowboard School to include new full and half-day group lessons for children. These additions are intended to complement the existing private lessons that have been available in the past. The resort is also launching two new seasonal development programs: the Her Turns Academy, designed for women, and the Mountain Adventure Team, targeting children aged 8-17. The resort will continue to host annual events such as Ullr Fest and Toyota Takeover Weekend and has added 300 new parking spaces in anticipation of increased visitor numbers.
Nearby Laurel Mountain, known for its steep terrain, will introduce a new seasonal program aimed at preparing skiers and snowboarders for challenging slopes at other Vail Resorts properties in the West, such as Vail Mountain and Whistler-Blackcomb. The program will be available in two four-day sessions and is expected to attract skiers looking to improve their skills on steep terrain, including Laurel Mountain’s Lower Wildcat slope, one of the steepest slopes in Pennsylvania.
At Hidden Valley Resort, two new seasonal programs will be offered: the Valley Adventure Team for children aged 8-17 and the Snow Angels program for women.
Closer to Washington, D.C., Liberty, Roundtop, and Whitetail Resorts are also busy preparing for the upcoming winter season. Whitetail is introducing the Kids’ Mountain Camp, which will provide full and half-day programming for children aged 4-6 and 7-12. This initiative is intended to offer parents more flexibility while their children receive instruction from professional trainers. Liberty Mountain Resort, which launched its Kids’ Academy last season, will expand the program to accommodate more children aged 4-6. Roundtop Mountain Resort has upgraded its snowmaking infrastructure with new snow guns to improve conditions throughout the season.
Further north in the Poconos, Jack Frost and Big Boulder resorts have made enhancements to their snowmaking systems, including the installation of new pipes, valves, hoses, snow guns, and LED slope lights.
All eight ski areas are included in the Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass programs, with Epic Day Passes available for advance purchase at discounted rates. The My Epic app allows guests to purchase lift passes online and store them in the app, as well as track their stats, find friends, and view interactive trail maps.
