Maryland’s only downhill ski area has made a number of enhancements across the property in preparation for the upcoming ski season.

New snowmaking pipe has been installed along several slopes including Down Under, lower Boulder Run, Grouse Way, and the base area. The Sunset Boulevard beginner area will benefit from new TechnoAlpin stick guns, helping to quickly prepare the terrain for skiing and snowboarding.

LED lighting has been installed on the Down Under slope, and a new carpet conveyor lift has been installed to service the Snow Tubing area. Riders on Chair 5 will notice a fresh new coat of paint on the lift towers.

Located at the base of the ski area, the Wisp Hotel has also seen some upgrades. The hotel sidewalk is now heated, allowing it to remain clear of snow, and the Lodge at Wisp indoor pool has received a “glow-up” with new windows, live greenery, and new furniture. The pool is open to lodging guests.

The rental shop has been outfitted with new skis, snowboards, and ski poles, and the lodge has received new doors and a new heating system, ensuring it will remain comfy after a cold day on the slopes.

The resort also notes that employees across the resort will look spiffier with all-new winter jackets.

Located in western Maryland’s Garrett County, winter often arrives early at Wisp Resort, bringing cold temperatures and natural snow throughout the season.
