As a robust Mid-Atlantic ski season winds to a close, Vail Resorts has recently opened sales of 2024-2025 Epic Passes, offering the lowest prices of the year.
Vail Resorts, which owns local ski areas including Liberty, Roundtop, Whitetail, Hidden Valley, Seven Springs, Laurel Mountain, Jack Frost, and Big Boulder, is once again offering the Epic pass in several versions. The Northeast Value Pass, with early pricing at $642, includes all Mid-Atlantic resorts as well as select New England properties including Okemo and Stowe. Some restrictions apply on the pass. The Epic Local Pass, at $783, adds in many more properties across the Vail Resorts portfolio including Vail, Park City, and Whistler Blackcomb; some restrictions on that pass also apply, such as exclusions during peak dates and a limit of 10 total days across Vail, Beaver Creek, and Whistler Blackcomb. The full Epic Pass, at $1,051, provides unrestricted access to all Vail Resorts properties.
The company will also be offering Epic Day Passes, providing 1- to 7-days of resort access at a significant discount compared to ticket window pricing. Per day prices with the Epic Day Pass are as low as $47 per day.
“Epic Pass was created to unlock access to incredible mountain resorts at an unmatched value for skiers and riders,” said Courtney Goldstein, Chief Marketing Officer for Vail Resorts. “We are always working to raise the bar to deliver the Experience of a Lifetime for our Pass Holders season after season, from growing access to world-class resorts to lift upgrades and technology innovations like Mobile Pass, My Epic Assistant and My Epic Gear.”
The Colorado-based company notes that 75% of guests to its resorts during the prior season visited with an Epic Pass product.
Early buyers of a 2025-2026 Epic Pass will receive additional perks such as 10 Buddy Tickets and six Ski With a Friend Tickets, which provide discounts on lift tickets for friends. Epic Passholders also receive a 20% discount on on-mountain food and beverage purchases, lodging, group ski and ride lessons, and equipment rentals.
Vail reports that it continues its focus on guest experience improvements, paying particular attention to “speed-to-snow” to get guests on the slopes faster. The company notes that there has been a decrease in lift line wait times year over year for the last three years. This past season, the company claims lift lines lasting more than 10 minutes occurred less than 3% of the time, including during weekends and holidays.
An abundance of below-freezing temperatures and multiple snowstorms this past winter resulted in a strong Mid-Atlantic ski season, allowing Epic passholders to gain more value from their passes. Liberty Mountain and Whitetail Resorts are both ending their seasons on Saturday, March 15, 2025 with celebratory Pond Skims.
