Well... it looks like we'll have a few shots at some snow next week. Chris Bailey over at WSAZ is talking about a potential storm for Tuesday and another one for next weekend! 'Ol accuweather is also hyping the storm too... keep your fingers crossed!

I think I'll break out the mountain bike this weekend while I wait for winter to return...

PS..Feb might go out with a kick & march could get interesting!

Made that quote 4 days ago & got the heads up from Chris who I have been following ever since you turned us on to him last year smile...
He can give us a general heads up but is lacking in our mtn f-cast dept.
I need a great run to lure me off the beach where i am enjoying 70's to near 80's tommorow but i have been watching run after run of the models & i just might have to make the long run the 1st weekend of march even though i have 0 time left at work to do so...

Thats a new one!..I've been trying to predict snow events on this site for years..back in the early days it was just about "what usually happens' type of F-casting..Now if you put in the time (cking multiple sources & doing the Ave) anyone can figure out what will probably happen.
Welcome to the future!!

I've been using the WSAZ site for the past 2 years. That and Capital Weather Gang on Wash Post (obviously DC-centric.) Good discussion of storms on both.

Instead of checking multiple sources, we still prefer the one-stop shopping of Mr. Fish on DCSki!

Don't you have some weather station next to the statue at the top of MPC???????????????

Thats right..Just use & abuse me cry..But I'm just a 1 trick pony JohnL..Canaan Valley smile..A real weather dude can give a regional F-cast & you don't even know how bad I wish I had a weather station up on MPC!

I'm a glutton for punishment though by trying to figure out the weather..I spend hours trying to figure it out..Gets stupid really crazy..I'm 50 now & friends can tell you that back in my teens I would stare at those 1st dinosaur Radar contraptions.I would sleep out in the living room by a back deck with the spotlights on to watch for snow or to see it snow all night (I love my Spotlights on my Deck at my Canaan Camp).. I can remember as a kid trying to predict where the oil slicks (which I would pretend to be Storms) that would form over the asphalt on the roads after a rain would be heading.

Amazing that with all that nerdy activity I was still able to pick up all those Ladies cool grin

PS...Someone will be up very early tue morn cking out one of those fronts that blow thru the canaan area with a burst of wind & snow...wish I could be "Spotlighting"!!

I did get to ck out the front that blew thru a couple of weeks ago with Thunder/lightning Sleet & hard winds then Snow just puking down for a couple of hours..anyone else see that?..Amazing..I had a Cantore moment!!

Cold stuff Next Fri... http://www.met.sjsu.edu/weather/models/gfsone-06/850tmpcf132.gif
