Thought I'd create a place to share pics from this season for those just looking to dump some pics on here instead of writing up a whole report. Maybe it'll take off, maybe not ;)
Wisp today was pretty good for pre-Christmas skiing. Even some snow in the trees!
That looks great! How many runs open today?

Not many. Roughly 15, although there's really only a few ways down. Would have liked to venture to the Valley but didn't have much time and it's hard to pass up a 40 min drive to ski.

Were you trying to post pictures? Only text is showing up (on a PC so I won't blame Tim Cook.)
I reloaded .... hopefully it works. I'm usually OK with this.
Can I blame Al Gore? He created these interwebs. Damn global warming.

Al Gore came to yer rescue. Looks good!
I can see pics, look great, but we need to work on your beer selection!
Got out and enjoyed some free XC skiing at http://www.coopersrockstateforest.com today. There was 5-6" on the ground which was nice and packed down on the trails. There were TONS of people out today. Nice to see so many people out enjoying the snow.
Nice to see an XC report. I am in Rochester, NY visiting my sister. Yesterday I enjoyed some of the best XC I have ever experienced at Mendon Ponds Park. 6-8" of light lake effect powder that fell the day before in 0 deg. Temp. Sun came out and it warmed to just below freezing. A perfect day!
I used to work right across the street from Mendon Ponds Park. It is a beautiful place. Glad you had a nice ski day there.
We made it to Wisp and cashed in our free swap ticket from Snowshoe. They had just about everything open. Never waited more than a few minutes in a lift line. Parking lot seemed pretty full but the slopes were not over crowded. Great day to be out with temps in the mid 30s, semi blue bird in the AM them overcast afternoon. We managed to get in 20 runs.
For you bump lovers, The Face was all bumped up
Only took one pic from the top of Squirrel Cage.
My father made this bad boy for me for my birthday this year. Made from an old pair of Rossi's and a sweet pair (and in great shape too) of Kastle's. Definitely going to make a great addition to a ski house somewhere one of these days.
Nice!

No way! Here's some more Skiing pics...
Had tons of fun yesterday at Whitegrass. Just enough snow on all the trails to have a great time. Made it to the top of the mountain and back down with all limbs intact. The parking lot was packed, but didn't see many people after we started up. No views from Baldy as it was windy/foggy when we made it up there.
Massanutten, January 21:
Any more pics from the last couple of days?
Here are a few from Whitetail yesterday, Thursday Jan 23. The kids had school cancelled, and I happened to take the day off, so we headed out for the day. The crowds were very light, and conditions were great. Nice firm surface, at least on the blues and greens. We didn;t get over to the advanced terrain, but a patroller said they left Exhibition bumped up.
This is from the EZ Rider Quad, looking over Snow Park toward the intermediate runs.

We had Stem Winder to ourselves, or had only a few others along with us, plety of room, nice firm but not icy conditions

Looking through the window at the base area at about 2 PM, a light snow shower at the time.

Yes Sir. We got out around 8 45 with almost no one there. I'm going to assume you work there based on the forum name. Everyone was VERY friendly. Our group of 3 had a great time.
Post edited to protect the innocent (sort of)

Later on in the day, I could see that West Virginia's finest was hiding at mid-station, pulling over and ticketing poachers.

More like de-ticketing poachers, I would think.
Looks pretty sweet. Hopefully I'll be out there in a couple weeks.

Youtube didn't approve of the song I attached to the vid. I rendered it real quick without sound just to show yesterday's conditions. It's just one quick run, but you get the idea
Very nice. Looked like about 8" of fresh snow over WV weeds:-) Save some for us next month.
was workin, so handed off my headcam to a local ski afficiando who wanted to blow up a few runs at White Grass on his alpine gear for fun.... slightly shakey but a good bit of airtime flying over the speed limit
Nice, post this one over on TGR.
Following JohnL around Timberline last weekend. Good times! Be sure to watch the end...

My son getting some air on the large jumps.
Even though the Sierra were off to one of its slowest starts on record we were able to somehow time our trip out there this winter during an Atmospheric river snowfall event starting Feb 6th .Totals from the 4 day storm were anywhere from 5 -9 feet at the different resorts we went to . New terrain w/untouched acreage successively opened in the days following the storm. If you 've ever been to Tahoe you know that its going to go bluebird right after a big storm!A few pics from Sierra at Tahoe/ Kirkwood + Diamond Peak
My daughter and family got in on that one since the live in CA. It hasn't snowed since then. I've been skiing Kirkwood and Sierra for the past week. The snow is now compacted and we badly need more. Report to follow.
Wow that's awesome. I wouldn't have the guts to go all the way out there this year considering how crappy it had been before. Ullr was looking out for you!

Yes he did and we were very thankful! Our audible was a 3 day visit to Mt Bachelor but luckily we were able to stay put in Tahoe .
On this morning (pics below ) Squaw's upper Mtn was closed and we knew we picked the right Mtn. to ride when we were standing next to the famous KT Cheryl for first tracks on the slide side of Mt Rose. Rose was also closed the prevoius day (high winds) so pretty much all the snow from the storm was untouched the day they reopened. This was the first day the sun came out after the storm. It was one **ll of a good day on the snow. Eventually I'ill get around to editing some helmet cam clips.
A little sidecountry tour w/ view of Mt Rose proper and the beautiful hourglass bowl in the second pic
Beautiful pics!! Mt Rose is some of the most fun to be had in Tahoe. I love that place!!
Low quality cell phone pics from Park City this past weekend.
Good times on Saturday. Lots of good snow and good bumps. Conditions were great after things softened up around 11-noon.
Met Scottyb for the first time in real life. Got to ski with Jimmy, who seems to always be "working" when I'm at Timberline. Also got to chase (and usually fail to catch) Scott around The Drop, Thunderdraft, and even once in the woods.
Here's a few clips from the day. Be sure not to miss my faceplant at the end...
