It's a buzzkill to post this on the eve of our biggest snow of the winter :-)

Tell me about global warming when its 95F and 100% humidity in the Burgh. I woke up to -11F this morninig, the 12th time this Winter my thermoter has registered below 0 at 6 AM (dog breakfast and potty time). It's rare for below zero readings more than once in any given Winter, let alone a dozen. Today, when the thermometer skyrocketed to 25F and the sun revealed itself, I was ready to break out the beach blanket and sunblock.

Not arguing pro or con for GW, I'm just exposing my empirical data here in Yunzerville.

How do you get ur dogs to do anything in that weather HDave?...up at Canaan during the GW inhanced Vortex we couldnt get our dogs to do anything...had to run out and carry them in because they were falling out!..weak spoiled beach dogs the problem I guess...

So I was not crazy driving to work today.  My truck said -10* and I thought my thermometer was messed up.  Channel 4 said around 0 on the morning news.

Regarding dogs - I have 2 Basset Hounds and I had to clear a path in the back yard for their morning ritual.

 

Just got back from Brazil.... it is the hottest there it has been in recorded history, was 106F when I left in southern Brazil (supposed to be the coolest region.... south there = north here). Also record heat in Australia. Was shocking to get off the plane to the cold again!!!

Hey John Kerry-Heinz. "Climate Change This". -9.0F at my house (just outside of Mt Pleasant PA) again this morning and confirmed on the truck thermometer. Now at 13 times sub-zero and counting this WInter.

30 years ago we were told that by this time  there would be no more ice in the Arctic and New York would have Florida Weather...still waiting but also still not willing to fork over any of my hard earned money to try to fix this...Problem?

Most of these folks dont know where you stand on this subject snowsmith...they probably think that you are Z..ing away at the boys that keep crying Wolf..u ought to clarify...or not...it wont change anything..because most of us dont think MUCH of anything is changing..with all due respect..(no blind faith...just hope and an open mind)

Colder air comes slamming in behind this, but we don’t really see it get cold until later in the weekend when a arctic front swings in. That may have a wave of low pressure along it Sunday morning”¦

Again, winter is coming back next week and looks to hang around for the better part of March. Snow chances look common over the next few weeks.

 

ZZZZZ..... What, what.... Ah, what a nice thing to awaken to. I had nightmare I was skiing on concrete, white concrete. I do have to say I did enjoy the 55 weather today, but I don't want it to last long. Good to hear it is a brief respit.

Affects of global warming are difficult to predict. May not be so bad for North American skiing as the OP link suggests.

Here is ur end of snow Biaches!!!...200 yards from Olsens tower..450 ATV's stuck in the snow...finally worked our way to the tower...today...march the 8th....
