I'm at 15, and probably will not get any more. I'm sad I did not make it into West Virginia this year.
3 - Winter Park, CO
6 - Clearfork
1 - Snow Trails
5 - Mad River Mountain
Those last three are all crappy ohio ski places. But that is what you get when you live nowhere near a mountain.
There is still time to make it WV don't give up yet.
We're going tomorrow for the weekend.
4 days at Winter Park
So far 10 days at Snowshoe
I wish I could get in 20-30 days but this thing called work gets in the way...
1-Wintergreen
1-Homestead
1-Bryce
1-Snowshoe
1-Massanutten
1-Blue Mountain
and possibly another 2 at Snowshoe this weekend.
So, 6 so far.
Not enough and all local. Didn't even make it to T-line and doubt that I will.
Good season for me that should end up at an even 20 days (counting 3 this weekend at SS)

9 different resorts in 7 different states is pretty cool
(HV is on my radar for Sunday, March 29 to get me to 21 if they stay open that long.)
16 Liberty, 1 Whitetail, 2 Wisp, 2 more at Liberty this weekend, and 3 at Snowshoe for Easter. And got my son into it- he picked up 6 days in 4 weeks.
Not shabby for my 1st season back since rear-entry boots were sexy and Alberto Tomba was a god. Needless to say it was a steep learning carve...
Was wondering myself. Here's a try.
18 - Whitetail
4 - Park City
3- Taos
2 - Ski Santa Fe
2 - Magic Mt.
1 - Plattekill
1 - Blue Knob
...and a projected 4 more days over WT this weekend and a final trip to Vt next weekend. So at 31 - possibly 35. First local day in November; ones still to come in March - five different months. Definitely helps with the count. I'm ready for Spring.

I think that adds up to 28. I've got my eye on Friday and Sunday at Liberty or Whitetail for this weekend. So if all goes well I'll end up with 30 between 11/22-3/22. Had a great season, finally got around to picking up snowboarding , got my sister to ski for her first 3 days ever, and a friend out snowboarding for 4 days, as well as a few runs at the local high school on a snow day.

Not my best year but definitely not my worst. Too bad spring break for my lad is after Easter, might have had a few more.
36 so far. I don't think I am going to hit 50, but I might get close. This is the most I have skied since 1976. Skied with my three daughters today for the first time in a year. Very fun and beautiful day at Keystone, CO.
Not sure,
About 2-2.5 times/week since beginning of December (plus one day before T-giving).
So, 2.25 x 16 weeks = ?
It's helped to have many weeks with local XC options, and it looks like tonight/tomorrow might be another one of those.
I will be right at 39 after 2 days this weekend

every unusual year that I did not make it to snowshoe, timbeline or elk! Making up for next year, already bought snowshoe season pass, going to buy whitetail pass before April sale ends, and really really debating epic local pass wih Breckinridge as base....
I'm at 15 days, hoped for 10 more but...? However, what I lacked in quantity, I made up for with quality!
I skied: Snowshoe 7 days with extended family; Park City 3 days with UVA alumni club, and in Colorado I skied with JimK 1 day each at Beaver Creek, Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Vail and Keystone (first time for me at Beaver Creek and ABasin). Best days for me were at Breckenridge and Beaver Creek, but anytime one skis with JimK is a great day! I am 74 years young, Jim is 13 years my junior; I greatly appreciate his putting up with my slow and less adventursome skiing. But when I would take a rest Jim would head to a couple of the gnarliest runs before returning. That man can SKI!!!
I am finding that as I age I appreciate half days more, skiing with friends more and driving by myself to local slopes less. I always vow to get in better shape before my next ski season; maybe next year I will. Oh, did I not mention that skiing at 12,000+ feet altitude can really tucker you out!
Have a great off-season and I am looking forward to skiing with you in 15-16!
I must not forget to thank my tolerant wife who puts up with my ski trips, etc. Thanks Honey!

Today was Day 25 for me. Pretty sure that's it for my season
When I retired I vowed to stop counting days. Being of a certain age (73) this isn't as difficult as expected. As near as I can recall the count is,
carson Pass, CA, backcountry, 2
mt. Lassen CA, backcountry, 1
mt. Hood OR, 3, more to come
Heavenly, 3
northstar, 6
kirkwood, 15-20
anticipated, Mt. Shasta, CA. 80" depth at the 6800 ft trailhead right now. Normally good thru June, this year ?
mt. Hood, annual climb and ski trip first week of May, staying in the Silcox Hut at 7000 ft. 4 days or more.

28 days total. Not, too shabby I wanted to try and make 30. But, it looks like I'm going to fall a little short.
I put in maybe 3-3.5 hours per outing. I'm not 20 nor am I at retirement age - nestled in between... however, I do ride constantly with nothing more than a quick bathroom break in between when I go it myself.
Most of this year though I spent with people much slower than I, including half of my season spent with begineers or teaching people. So while we are at the very end of the season, my legs feel as if I'm just starting out. I spent 3 hours yesterday at 7Springs and thought my legs were going to melt. I had to stop halfway down , take a 30 sec break then finish the hill. Pretty sad.

3 days on alpine gear, 8 days on XC gear... What's up with that?
I'll break 60 this weekend...
59 times so far”¦.
42 at Mount Sunapee NH
7 at Killington VT
4 at Okemo VT
2 at Ragged Mountain NH
1 at Pat’s Peak NH
1 at Pico VT
2 at Bolton Valley VT
This weekend we'll be in Killington and I have mountain ambassador volunteer duty at Sunapee. Total 61. And Killington is now open until JUNE. So I may break 70. As well, skiing for a total of eight calendar months.
hit 57 days yesterday, and will get in 4-8 more days -- all in Colorado, where 50+ degree days is causing the snow to vanish before our eyes. it better start snowing again or Loveland won't make it to the first Sunday in May and A-Basin won't make June for only about the second time in the last quarter century.
Bob, you can always try New England. Killington, Okemo, Stratton and Mt Snow have snow by the bucketful. With possibly more this weekend....
lbotta, thanks for your suggestion, but I'm about ready for the season to end. I'm a bit burned out.

+1 snowshoe :) not a good year unless I get to WV at least once!
As of this afternoon, I broke 60 days for the ski season. Started on the first day of skiing in October at Killington. My new goal is now 70 days, which is fairly easy considering the great 2 footer storm we're about to have and the weekend ahead with another foot. And family coming for two weeks.
10 and got rained on about 3 times.. Still beat's working and everything else for the most part..
Ok. had 6 at Mt Snow
4 at the shoe
2 at CV
45 at T-line
and 10 to 15 more TBD in the NE and West.
11 Snowshoe
3 Colorado
1 Hidden Valley

I can nearly say the same as last year.
2.25 times/week since mid-Dec = 27ish
plus some holiday weeks and a 3-day in CO.
but it took until yesterday for the local XC to happen.
so, somewhere in the 30-40 session range I think.
18 so far. I'm guessing that there will be only one more day this weekend at Roundtop if I can swing it. Not as many days as prior years, but not too bad considering the "Winter" that we had this year. And only one trip out West this year instead of two. I fixed that already by booking a trip at Xmas next year and by buying the Mountain Collective Pass.
9 - Whitetail
3 - Roundtop
2 - Vail
2 - Beaver Creek
1 - Elk

25 to 30 and counting. Most at Laurel a handful at the Springs and another handful at Stowe and Jay (a week too early, I might add)
40, I think. With 9 more in Utah and 4 more at ABay to come. Was hoping to do the trek up to Plattekill this weekend, but too much to do.
Hit a bunch of different places.
8 days @ Whistler/Blackcomb
6 days in Utah (Bird, Brighton, Solly)
4 days in CO (ABay, Keystone, Cooooper)
4 days in VT (Stowe, Jay, Bush)
1 day at Catamount in NY/MA
1 day at The Beast in MA
1 day at Huntah in NY
1 day at Montage in PA
1 day at Whitetail
Rest at T-Slime and CVR
1 Snowshoe
1 Seven Springs
1 Laurel Mountain
2 Hidden Valley
1 Boyce (does that count?)
4 in Utah (coming up next week, Snowbird, Alta etc)
So 10 total. Might go to Hidden Valley again this weekend, depends on whether it rains or not tomorrow.

Would like to get out again but I am booked through next weekend. If snowshoe extends their season beyond that then maybe I can get out once more. It would be cool if I could make it up to Plattekill the first week in April if conditions hold, but I doubt my schedule will allow that...I do really need to make it up there at some point. It would be great if we could arrange some sort of DCSki roadtrip.
20 so far (planning on riding day 21 at 7springs on Monday). It's been a tough year for me.

i never made it out west. I just work too much. Time to put an end to that.
One think I've been trying to do this year is to hit the smaller, Mom&Pop - kind places in New England. Just for reminiscences of a simpler life. Pat's Peak, Suicide Six, Ragged Mountain, Crotched Mountain, Gunstock, Whaleback, etc. Most are about the size of Canaan Valley. A few of them are non-profits now. All of them a world away from the corporate mentality. A sheer pleasure.
My husband and I are talking about doing that next winter if the snow is good. We want to pack the suburban and head north and hit the smaller hills and see the country. We've never skied north of PA. I think it would be a relaxing trip and more interesting not dealing with the crowds and bigger resort mentality.

Still betting on at least 1 April weekend to KTon, and I've got some credit w SWA... I smell a flight to Squaw or Mammoth for July 4th!!!
15 days!
1 Wolf Creek, 1 Silver Mtn, 1 Lookout Pass, 1 Sun Peaks, 1 Grouse Mtn, 1 Alpenal, 2 Crystal, 2 Hood Meadows, 1 Hood Ski Bowl, 2 Timberline (OR), 1 Cooper Spur, 1 Summit, 1 White Pass.....headed to Mt Balchor this weekend. :)
I did Mammoth on the 4th last year. it was fun. The snow will be better this year for sure!!
Thinking Squaw this year as that never happen!
New mountains included a few days at Wachusett and a week at Taos. Only a couple holiday weekends at Massanutten. Just finished a spring break week in Utah skiing Alta and PowMow with my daughter. Heading back to Alta for my usual meet up with friends in April. Total should end up 28.
6 at Massanutten
8 in the northeast: Sunday River, Stowe, Wachusett
14 out west: Taos, Alta/Snowbird, PowMow
The out of control snowboarder that smashed into me and broke six of my ribs, plus a small lung puncture, ended my season prematurely on Feb 2! I still am healing and hurt whenever I move in a way that my ribs don't like. I anticipate a couple more months, at least, before achieving full healing, if ever. Hopefully my 76 year old bones will hold up for a few more seasons.
Regardless, I got in 5 days:
2 at Austria area Ehrwalder Almbahn on the flanks of the Zugspitze, skiing w/ grandkids
2 at Canaan Valley Ski Area
1 at Snowshoe

I only got out once, Blue Mountain with my 8 y/o. It had been two years since I hit the slopes. I'm hoping to get to Massanutten, Blue Knob or even Hunter next year. I need to be better about getting my wall-sits in though.
Yesterday I accrued my 71st day on skis for the season - a record for me. I may go for 80 yet, considering the major resorts are still open such as Sugarbush, Okemo, Loon, Wildcat etc. will still be open for a while. And of course, Killington may well stay open until June.
Then there is Mt. Washington. Living in the neighborhood, you owe it to yourself. Seniors like myself wait for the auto road to open in late May. Drive up and ski the summit snowfields. Skiing anywhere on the Presidential range is a memorable experience.

You're totally correct. I've made friends at our local mountain, Sunapee, who are aficionados of late season skiing in Pinkham area and even Tuckermans. There is a group of seniors who do hard crampon hiking and skiing too. What the heck, you only live once....
I think I'm up to 49 now. If there is snow, four more days at ABasin over Mom's Day still to come.
One downhill, 2 cross country. The downhill day took place last Friday at Dodge Ridge, CA. It was just short of 5 months post rotator cuff surgery. It was a promised reward for grandson #2 for getting some overdue school work done. It was as unpromising a ski day as could be. Heavy rain all night below 6000 feet. 35 deg with snow and fog at the base area at 6600. The top at 8600 was very open in near white out, which concerned me. Vertigo and Sierra cement were not my idea of first day back after shoulder surgery. Well, after getting down the first few hundred verts and into the trees for visual reference, it was Sierra silk (and you thought I was going to say cement). Not powder and not quite like I have ever skied before. It required commitment, but smooth as silk. There was nobody in sight; I don't think there were a dozen people on the mountain. We had a private lift served mountain. After 4-5 runs it transitioned to Sierra cement in minutes. You could wring a bucket full of water out of a handful of this stuff. I quit after one run of that, lucky to have had just one fall with no injury. Grandson quit an hour after me. We both had a wonderful time.
32 this year, down a bit from last year because of 2 weekends being sick and 1 weekend having a bad attitude.

Great skiing with you in UT.
Charlie @ Snowbird April 1, 2017:
I skied 29 days this winter. Now I've switched to trimming bushes and cutting grass:-(
Denis, Glad you are better. We more senior folk obviously take more time to heal. The prognosis for full healing of my six broken ribs has gone from two months to maybe by summer, latest by October. I still wince when I cough or sneeze, many things still can't do, or afraid to try.
Take care my friend.

I ended the season at 40... most days I've had in a year, and also most quality skiing I've had skill wise. The mountain ops crews at Snowshoe and Roundtop (in March) deserve a raise. I could not believe the quality that Snowshoe kept on the mountain through the warmspell in January, and at the end of Febuary thought they had no shot at March 26. Turns out March had some of the best snow conditions I'd seen all year. This was really the first time I'd explored Roundtop.... and although small the mountain has some character (from the parking lot tailgating to the slopes) and the investment to keep the place open after the devestating last week in Febuary was much appreciated.
Snowshoe: 23
Liberty: 5
Whitetail: 7
Roundtop: 2
Gunstock: 1
Ragged: 1
7 Springs: 1
This is the first season where I was out on the slopes with friends close to 50%+ of the time. I can say that from December to the end of March my skiing improved more than any other season. I ended up picking up some skis at an end of season sale last weekend as I was actually starting to feel that my ability was outgrowing my current skis towards the end of the season. However much I would love to slip up north to try out the new gear it is probably a longshot... so I will likely have a nice treat when November (hopefully) or December rolls around.
Starting to hit the XC bike trails around DC and getting the downhill bike ready... but who knows if work allows and another nice storm comes in maybe I'll add one or 2 more days up north.
Added 3 more, so 31 for the season.
Thurs at Okemo (boring)
Fri at Killington (all of Ovation, & Downdraft & Doubledipper still open mid-April)
Sat at Jay (holy crudnuts, all the trees are still very much in play)
Playing the trees in a tshirt at 70deg was a very special Easter present!
The downhill count is now 6. 4 were powder days, 2 were superb powder days. The doc told me to wait 6 months after shoulder surgery to return to skiing. I waited 4 1/2. Sometimes you just have to decide how much of your life belongs to your dr. and how much belongs to you. No falls of any consequence and the shoulder feels strong again. I've been conservative - well there were a couple of 40+ deg. pitches with no tracks and 2 feet of powder. It was glorious. If you don't tell, I won't.
Next week will include 3-4 days at Squaw, then I'll head to Mt. Hood for an annual hut trip climbing and skiing. After that we'll see. There will be skiing all summer in the Sierra, but at some point we will likely have to climb for it.
Total count as of last Friday is 75 ski days, seven straight months (started the day ropes went down at Killington on October 25th). Planning goal is 80 days. I thought I had a lot but I met an 80-something age skier at Sugarbush over the weekend and it was his 120 ski day. He also remarked his wife had at least two more than him...
Friday was closing weekend at Sugarbush. The Weekend before we were at Okemo for its closing as well as the mega sales at the ski shops. Open still are Wildcat NH, Killington, Jay Peak and Stowe in VT and Sunday River and Sugarloaf in ME. Hoping Killington remains open past its 28 May announced date so we can do at least one turn in June..... That would mean nine months of skiing for the season.
I'm a little jealous of you guys. My wife gave birth to our first child six months ago. I only got 5 days in. Spending time with him was much more important to me than skiing this season. On the plus side in 3 or so seasons I hope to have a new ski buddy that will want me to take him skiing.
Anyway,
2 days at beavercreek
2 days at perfect north (Cincinnati area hill with 400 feet of vert)
1 day at Mad River (rural Ohio one. Not the legendary one)
next year I bought a ridiculous pass just to force us all to go to snowshoe for a few days.
I have 12 so far:
5 Whitetail
1 Roundtop after the late cold snap on 5 March (with my son on spring break)
5 at Heavenly (three were heavenly, with two of those 10-15 inches of powder; and two were bluebird spring days, first time)
1 at A Basin (first time)
6 coming up at Mount Hood for Camp (end of June/begining of July, first time on Mt. Hood)
Excited about camp. Will end the year at 18 days, three new places and two new ski months! Feeling good about that.
