Thanks to the non-stop work of Mike Chaney and his dedicated team, all 47 runs at Canaan Valley Ski Area will be open this weekend. The resort has been working hard to lay snow where it is needed, and there is now a base of up to 40 inches in places. The weather report is looking darn near perfect for this weekend, with sunny skies and cold but not frigid temps and maybe even a little more snow on Sunday. It looks like it’s going to be an epic weekend of skiing, so come on out and #DefyGravity with us.
This weekend CV, will also have the only terrain park open in the Valley and as an added bonus, there's a slope style contest scheduled for Saturday.
And the webcam shows the crowd to be non-existent.
Incredible day at Canaan today... amazing conditions, and even the glades were open!thank you Canaan
Cudos CVR! Really showing how a valley ski area can run
I wouldn't disagree, but would point out they are supposed to get another snow storm so it's going to be playtime again in the woods and powder!

Don't forget, a little natural snow makes everything appear better. Warmup today/tommorrow with some rain, and it all goes back to normal

Hello CVR, can you provide an update for the upcoming President's Day Holiday weekend? Your website's "Snow and Open Trails" page doesn't show any trails with snowmaking... can you share any plans for trail openings/closures for the weekend? Thanks for being an active contributor to DCski!
Webcam will show you snowmaking in progress. The open trails listed should be nice this weekend as they were skiing nice the last few days. Poor White grass is a differens story :(

Hello Skiers -
It’s looking good for President’s Day Weekend at Canaan Valley Resort. Mike Chaney and his team will have all lifts operating, and the most popular runs ”“ including Gravity, Timber Trail, Weiss Meadows 1, the Main Face and Ramble ”“ will be open throughout the holiday weekend. The entire beginner’s area will be open too. We’ll be grooming the mountain every night, and we’ll be making snow today as long as we can to get ready for the big weekend. The weather is looking good too, with sunny and mild temperatures by day and cooler temperatures at night.
While you’re at Canaan Valley this weekend, purchase your 2017/2018 season ski pass for a discounted rate of $249 per person. In addition to being set for next year’s skiing, the pass will give you skiing privileges for the rest of the 2016/2017 season, including President’s Day Weekend.
Is there still going to be a $199 season pass for WV residents if purchased by 4/15/17?
Please leave one run ungroomed to allow some bump skiing!!!
Wow, its a 25% bump in a price from last year...

Snowtime is $469 for the first pass and $369 for additonal family members.
The $249 CVR pass is still a bargin to ski at a place that is not crowded.
However, the Snowshoe $229 Ridiculous Pass is impressive.

Thx for the very good conditions despite the weather for the week leading up to prez weekend Canaan CVR....
Me n my Wife lost some very nice skiis on Valentines day after skiing...we usually ski down to the bottom of the Bunny area and drop our skiis and then head to our truck..deboot ect...then back the truck up to the skiis and then load them...been doing that for years but for whatever reason we decided to drive off without the skiis....
we talked to everybody to see if they had or had info on the skiis...the Ski patroler that brought down my wife after she broke her leg told us that he had seen them and picked them up and leaned them on a tank that was out of the way of the Groomers...
Great...but..it would have been nice if he had been instructed to bring the skiis into the 1st aid building.....
if someone wants thier skiis bad enough they will search for them...leaning them on a tank thinking someone will come back for them cost us a 1000 bucks!!$$$$...
