Husband, father and retired civilian employee of the Department of Navy, Jim Kenney is a D.C. area native and has been skiing recreationally since 1967. Jim's ski reporting garnered the 2009 West Virginia Division of Tourism's Stars of the Industry Award for Best Web/Internet/E-Magazine Article.
Jim has written 135 stories for DCSki since 2000.

That was the record set by some Utah ski areas during the epic 2022-2023 winter season, and DCSki Columnist Jim Kenney was there to experience it, logging 62 ski days in the state at areas including Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, Solitude, and Sundance.
